Job Description
Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their R&D and equipment design team. This role involves leading the design and implementation of advanced thin-film deposition technology, ensuring safe, reliable, and high-performance equipment. The ideal candidate will be a leader with strong technical expertise and the ability to collaborate effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent industrial experience)
- 8+ years of experience with 5+ years of experience working as a senior mechanical design engineer or engineering team lead
- Expertise with 3D modeling (SolidWorks and NX preferred)
- Experience with COMSOL, ANSYS or other FEA tools
- Ability to conceive of novel solutions for complex engineering systems
- Demonstrated ability to lead in either direct or matrix structures
