Job Description
Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a skilled Welder for a Third Shift position. This role involves performing manufacturing in-house welding work for high-field superconducting magnets, setting up welding processes, and providing manufacturability feedback to engineers. The company is focused on delivering the transition to fusion energy and has raised over $2 billion in capital.
Requirements
- Documented Training in Blueprint Reading and Fabrication, Gas Metal Arc Welding, and Advanced Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
- 5+ years' experience as a welder on large structural systems and tooling
- Experience with large metallic structures and manufacturing processes related to welding
- Experience welding stainless steel
- GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, Electron Beam and Laser Welding Experience
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation
- Excellent attention to detail
- Knowledge of various forms of welding equipment and procedures
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to work unsupervised
