The Mental Health Therapist (Substance Abuse) provides mental health and substance use counseling and support to patients suffering from drug or alcohol dependency. The successful candidate will engage in a clinical team approach addressing co-occurring substance use and mental health conditions.
Requirements
- Meet with clients to obtain personal information and medical history
- Determine causal relationship between substance addiction, socio-economic factors and personality traits
- Design a program of treatment and rehabilitation tailored to patient's individual situation
- Meet with family members to educate them on the most helpful role they can play in the recovery process
- Actively participate in performance improvement activities
- Assist with creating and/or obtaining marketing and educational materials
- Research and utilize industry best practices
- Participate in the organization’s referral process
- Works collaboratively with organization providers
