Job Description
CGS is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to manage and maintain Microsoft SQL Server. This role involves administering database systems, migrating databases, providing system administration support, implementing and configuring software, and performing backups. CGS focuses on innovative technology to improve government outcomes.
Requirements
- Administering Microsoft SQL Server, including Replication, Backup/Restore, and Capacity Planning.
- Migrating databases from SQL Server 2012 to SQL Server 2016.
- Providing basic systems administration support including planning, execution, testing, installations, and configurations.
- Recommending/implementing solutions for SQL performance monitoring and tuning.
- Implementing, deploying, and/or supporting Microsoft Technologies such as Visual Studio Framework, VB.NET, ASP, NET and Web Services.
- Performing backups of the web, application, and database servers according to MPA policies and procedures.
- Performing database activities such as monitoring, space management, and support, as well as extended hours of support.
