The Assistant Building Official will supervise and evaluate staff, organize work, and inspect structures to ensure compliance with codes and regulations. They will also prepare reports and correspondence, and act as Building Official in their absence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related skilled trades area
- Five years of progressively responsible experience enforcing building codes and ordinances
- Lead or supervisory experience
- Valid Georgia driver’s license
- International Code Council (ICC) Commercial Plan Review Certification or Commercial Building Inspector Certification
- ICC Building Official Certification or Building Officials of Georgia certification
