Job Description
Descript is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to own the company’s core accounting operations. The role involves closing, reconciling, and supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger as part of the month-end close process. This position offers the opportunity for growth within a rapidly expanding finance team and contributes to shaping a best-in-class accounting function.
Requirements
- Experienced accounting professional with 4–7 years of progressive experience (public accounting and tech/startup experience strongly preferred)
- CPA preferred (or working toward it)
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Hands-on with month-end close and comfortable working across multiple accounting areas
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
