Mechanical Design Engineer - Turbojet Engines

Destinus is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their gas turbine development team. The role involves designing and optimizing advanced gas turbine engines, focusing on critical components like compressor stages, rotor shafts, and bearing systems. Expertise in material behavior, precision tolerances, and design for manufacturability is essential. Destinus partners with defense organizations to revolutionize the defense industry with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in gas turbine or high-performance rotating machinery design.
• Strong understanding of material properties and behavior under extreme conditions.
• Proficiency in precision tolerancing, fits, and mechanical design principles.
• Experience performing stress analyses and interpreting results.
• Knowledge of rotordynamics and high-speed bearing systems is a plus.
