Environmental Services Technician (44002)

Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Promotes cleanliness of environmental surfaces and adheres to regulatory and accreditation standards.

Requirements

• Maintains regular attendance and punctuality
• Reports any safety or risk factors seen or observed
• Cleans and disinfects all clinics areas
• Maintains cleanliness of furniture, windows, and fixtures
• Disinfects floors of the facility corridors, offices, and patient waiting areas
• Maintains daily cleanliness of the linen rooms, lounges, bathrooms, and other areas
• Ensures floors are kept clean to maintain a safe and clean environment
• Strips, conditions, and reapplies floor finishes and polishes floors as necessary
• Empties wastebaskets, trash containers, and disposes of trash in proper receptacle
• Collects soiled linens and transports them to proper linen site
• Maintains isolation area using prescribed protective isolation cleaning procedures
• Assures supplies are adequate and maintains an adequate stock of cleaning supplies
• Uses supplies in the quantity recommended and properly stores all chemicals and supplies
• Keeps storage areas and carts well stocked, clean, and tidy
• Fills out work order requests for items needing repairs
• Maintains a log book of various environmental services activities on assigned unit
• Completes daily duties and tasks per departmental checklist for each shift
• Performs work in an independent manner adhering to safety regulations and objectives
• Reports any unsafe conditions to supervisor
• Requires completion of tasks or duties assigned by a supervisor
• Upholds all principles of confidentiality and patient care
• Adheres to all professional and ethical behavior standards of the healthcare industry
• Maintains compliance with all Human Resources requirements
• Performs other duties as assigned
