The Team Lead - LHSC will provide leadership to assigned sites, monitor day-to-day operations, and coach staff. Required to perform duties of a Laboratory Assistant including obtaining blood samples and other specimens from patients for diagnostic testing.
Requirements
- CSMLS or BCSLS certification and/or a graduate of an MLA program accredited by BCSLS or equivalent awarding body (Canadian)
- Sound knowledge of the MOH and DAP legislation and guidelines
- Working knowledge of laboratory best practices and competent in all collection techniques
- Excellent command of English and/or French where applicable
- 3 to 5 years related experience working in a laboratory environment
- Proficient with GD related software application including Omni Assistant and SP5
- Proficient in MS office, excellent computer and keyboarding skills
- Lean Six Sigma/Change management training-preferred
- Ability to lead by example with positive attitude and respectful of others
- Continuous improvement mindset of bringing forward recommendations, collecting data and implementing solutions
