The primary responsibility of the Youth Educator is to design and lead diverse enrichment activities. This role operates in a professional school environment and requires experience working with elementary schools, preferably in a racially, ethically, and socio-emotionally diverse urban community.
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED required
- Some college preferred
- Must have experience working with elementary schools, preferably in a racially, ethically, and socio-emotionally diverse urban community
- Minimum of two years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience required
- A genuine enthusiasm for developing professional skills through training opportunities and field practice
- Possess and ability to engage and lead activities in your area of specialty; strong communication skills, strong organizational skills, excellent judgment, ability to work in a team in various environments
- Candidates possessing skills in foreign languages, visual arts, music, or performing arts are strongly encouraged to apply
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all participants while remaining professional at all times
- Must be able to motivate the students while setting an example in all areas, including responsibility, timeliness, organization, attendance, and most importantly, professionalism
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances
- Being bilingual is a plus
