The Senior Accountant plays a key role in the Finance Department by ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with nonprofit healthcare accounting standards, and supporting the organization’s mission through reliable financial stewardship.
Requirements
- Perform daily accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, cash, and grant accounting.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit healthcare standards.
- Support the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.
- Prepare schedules and documentation to support the annual financial audit, Form 990, and other regulatory filings.
- Assist in grant reporting and compliance with Uniform Guidance and other funding requirements.
- Partner with the Accounting Manager to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and help implement system enhancements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide accurate and timely responses to financial data requests from leadership and program staff.
