Requirements
- Use defined procedures/processes/specifications and computer-controlled coil winding machine to set-up, wind, and insulate primary and/or secondary transformer coils
- Identify coil part numbers and quantities from the Run Sheet, retrieve necessary small parts, and input part numbers into the coil winding machine
- Interpret winding specifications accurately
- Set up the coil winding machine, including mandrel size, duct parts, insulation tape, paper size/thickness, wire/bar size, part number, and alignment of materials
- Install and adjust devices on the machine; load strip, conductor, and insulation paper
- Measure materials, make adjustments, and verify alignment
- Place and adjust coil form according to specifications
- Activate the machine to feed materials and follow Run Screen instructions
- Wind coils at the specified rate
- Label coils with ID, work order, part, and clock numbers
- Use measuring devices and tools, including hydraulic tools, hand tools, brazing, soldering, welding equipment, pliers, scissors, rubber hammer, ratchet, wrenches, and bending tools
- Crimp wire to static shielding
- Apply pack out as needed, fold, insulate, and tape-weld pre-cut leads
- Rework damaged or defective coils to meet quality standards
- Perform minor adjustments and routine upkeep of winding machines
- Weigh and log scrap metal, following disposal protocols
- Oversee and enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols to guarantee the safe deactivation and isolation of equipment, ensuring energy control procedures are correctly applied to prevent inadvertent machine startup or hazardous energy discharge during repair or maintenance, in line with OSHA regulations and organizational safety guidelines
- Safely operates overhead cranes and hoisting equipment to move materials, components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility
- Actively participates in problem-solving processes, contributing to efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement within the organization
- Achieves and maintains target production rates or output levels, ensuring efficient operations and meeting organizational goals
- Adhere to safety protocols, ensures efficient material handling, housekeeping practices (5S+), and company policies and procedures
- Perform other manufacturing duties as assigned
