Research Assistant, SynHG - Generative Biology Institute

The Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT) is seeking Research Assistants to join the Wellcome SynHG team based at the Generative Biology Institute (GBI) in Oxford. The team aims to develop the foundational tools and methods needed to synthesise large sections of human genomes/chromosomes, with the goal of unlocking a deeper understanding of life and accelerating the development of safe, targeted, cell-based therapies.

Requirements

• Degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Computer Science)
• Previous experience in working in a research laboratory (e.g. experience in mammalian cell culture and engineering, cloning and basic molecular biology skills, basic understanding of biological software)
• Ability to work effectively in a high-growth, fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Highly organised with an ability to manage multiple projects
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, inter-personal skills, and the ability to work with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds
• Experience with problem solving involving multiple internal and external stakeholders
