Patient Access Specialist

Emerus is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to serve as a liaison between patients, payers, and healthcare team members. The role involves verifying patient information, securing payments, and facilitating smooth billing through insurance verification and collections. The specialist will ensure accurate medical record keeping and contribute to a positive patient experience.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of patient registration and insurance verification experience in a health care setting, preferred
• Emergency Department registration experience, strongly preferred
• Knowledge of various insurance plans (HMO, PPO, POS, Medicare, Medicaid) and payors, required
• Basic understanding of medical terminology
• Excellent customer service
• Working knowledge of MS Office
