The Senior / Lead Robotics Hardware Technician / Support Engineer is responsible for defining system-level hardware architecture, mentoring the hardware team, and establishing organization-wide standards for reliability and validation. Ideal candidates should have prior experience with hand tools and basic power tools, and be comfortable with travel 60-70% of the time.
Requirements
- Define and own hardware architecture for complete robots or major product lines
- Make key trade-off decisions among performance, cost, and reliability
- Lead multi-phase hardware projects from concept to production
- Set technical direction, schedules, and milestones
- Inspire respect and motivation within the team
- Champion Agile methodologies and utilize software relevant tools
- Lead the implementation of robust QA/QC and issue-tracking processes
- Define and oversee advanced analyses
- Establish system-level validation plans
- Create hardware standards, libraries, and best practices
- Sponsor exploratory efforts to evaluate and integrate new hardware technologies
- Mentor and coach staff
- Foster a culture of collaboration, respect, safety and ownership
- Maintain proactive communication with stakeholders
- Demonstrate proficiency in technical communication
