The Power Generation Controls Engineer is responsible for programming Power Generation Systems, supporting applications and sales for new units, and providing commissioning and operational support services to customers for Enerflex supplied power generation packages and advanced maintenance functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/Instrumentation discipline
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commissioning of Power Generation and/or Medium Voltage systems
- Working knowledge of various electrical components including MCCs, VFD’s, electrical switchgear and motors
- Knowledge in NEC code is required
- Travel may be required, up to 25%
- Valid driver’s license with the ability and willingness to drive long distances
- Working knowledge of low voltage and medium voltage electrical systems
- Working knowledge of A/C and D/C systems and equipment
- Electrical trouble shooting skills
- Thorough understanding and ability to read and interpret electrical single line drawings, process and instrumentation diagrams and electrical and controls schematics
- Knowledge and experience with PLCs and HMIs
- Knowledge and experience with SEL and NGR relays
- Knowledge and experience with ComAP, Woodwards generator controllers considered an asset
- Experience with Jenbacher engine, generator DIA.NE control panels, Waukesha ESMs, CAT ADEM/EMCP, and Cummins PowerCommand considered an asset
- Good analytical, engineering problem solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office application software
- Superior customer service skills and track record
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written
- Solid team player: work well with others to achieve shared success
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
