Job Description
The Controls Engineer is responsible for developing Automation solutions and providing support for Enerflex’s engineering groups. The role involves designing control systems, programming PLC/HMI, and providing technical support to various groups. The ideal candidate should have a background in electrical or software engineering, experience with Allen Bradley hardware and PLC/HMI programming, and strong analytical and communication skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical or Software Engineering discipline, Computer Science Degree or equivalent experience
- 5 to 10 years experience in design of various control systems with Allen Bradley hardware
- 5 to 10 years experience in PLC/HMI programming on Allen Bradley, RSLogix 5000 and FactoryTalk View Studio
- DeltaV Programming Experience an Asset
- Knowledge of various electrical components including MCCs, VFD’s, electrical switchgear and motors
- Knowledge in CSA code for hazardous location is required
- Knowledge in IEC and NEC code is an asset
- Knowledge in the use of Computer-Aided Engineering Software is an asset
- Good analytical, engineering problem solving skills
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written
- Proficient with Microsoft Office application software
