The Safety Manager plays a critical role in protecting people, supporting projects, and strengthening safety culture across the organization. This position partners closely with field leaders, project teams, and corporate leadership to ensure work is performed safely, responsibly, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements. The Safety Manager balances field presence with strategic oversight, providing practical guidance, coaching, and accountability to help teams plan work safely and go home healthy every day.
Requirements
- Champion a proactive, people-first safety culture
- Serve as a visible safety leader in the field
- Coach and support field leadership in leading safety conversations, observations, and planning safe construction-related activities
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies aligned with Cal and Fed OSHA, occupational health standards, and the company’s core values
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits across all departments to identify hazards and create safety awareness at the sites and offices
- Report on audit results and provide corrective action recommendations as needed
- Lead incident investigations using root cause analysis techniques to determine underlying issues and prevent recurrence
- Track, analyze and report incidents, near misses, and safety metrics
- Partner with leadership to implement lessons learned and prevent recurrence
- Maintain accurate written reports related to safety incidents, inspections, and compliance documentation
- Provide first aid and CPR classes as needed; coordinate emergency response procedures
- Work closely with Operations, HR, Risk Management, and Project Management to align safety efforts with business objectives
- Stay informed of changes in OSHA and other relevant laws to ensure ongoing compliance
