Machine Operator - Athens, GA location

This position involves operating machinery used in the production of transformers, requiring safe and proper operation, lifting, and handling of materials, with attention to detail and adherence to safety policies.

Requirements

• Communicate and understand written and verbal instructions
• Use iPad or other electronic communication devices
• Use organizational skills and attention to detail
• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in thousandths and up to 1/16th of an inch
• Demonstrate proper lifting techniques
• Grasp, reach, and handle objects, tools, and materials
• Use measuring devices such as rulers, calipers, and micrometers
• Use hand & power tools such as air ratchets, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, and grinders
• Operate overhead hoists and lift assist equipment
• Lift, push/pull 50+ lbs.
• Frequent standing and walking is necessary
• Occasional sitting, stooping, reaching, or kneeling
• 20/40 vision is required with or without the use of corrective glasses and/or contact lens, as well as normal peripheral vision no less than 70, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Must comply with all plant safety policies and procedures and any special department safety rules
• Must be able to wear all required PPE including, but not limited to: safety toed shoes, safety glasses, cut resistant gloves, and hearing protection
