Job Description
Pet + E.R in Hunt Valley, MD is hiring a full-time experienced Veterinary Assistant to support their Client Care team. This role involves assisting with animal restraint, patient interaction, treatment, and maintaining the hospital facility. The vet tech's primary medical support function includes performing duties like taking vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with routine procedures.
Requirements
- Properly restrain animals.
- Obtain a thorough history from pet owner.
- Accurately measure and record each patient's weight and basic vitals.
- Understand triage and follow hospital policies regarding critical patients.
- Using aseptic procedures, draw up injections for doctors or technicians to administer.
- Properly package and store samples as needed.
- Assist with routine exam room procedures.
- Monitor patients' behavior.
- Maintain a positive attitude, work well and collaboratively as a team.
- Ability to multitask and produce efficiently under a heavy workload.
