The Duty Manager is fully qualified under the GCAA and maintains his/her certification privileges to certify aircraft as fit for service. He/she also communicates directly with the MCC controller or MCC Duty Manager on matters pertaining to incoming defects.
Requirements
- Certifies own work and work of others after having verified task has been performed in accordance with approved maintenance data within the scope of authorization.
- Completes all paperwork in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with the current company procedures.
- Carries out work in compliance with company, health, safety and airport procedures and regulations.
- Organizes, controls and coordinates within the line maintenance shift.
- Ensures adequate staffing levels are maintained to support the daily operating schedule.
- Identifies and nominates staff for both technical and personal development.
- Prepares and issues together with his/her Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor, an accurate shift allocation representing the daily operating schedule, nominating correctly certified personnel for the intended aircraft type, and highlighting significant tasks to be performed during the designated ground time.
- Ensures the cleanliness of the technical facilities to include the GSE / tool Store areas.
- Behaves in a manner which reflects a professional approach when dealing with customers
- Accepts appropriate training that will enable a more effective contribution
- Keeps IT library in order and uses applications as per instructions, ensuring correct and up-to-date revisions are being used by all operators.
- As appropriate, wears equipment provided by the company for health and safety reasons, and corporate image.
- Implements SMS systems and processes and ensures formal Risk Assessments are carried out for operationally significant changes.
- Ensures a safe and secure working environment for Etihad employees. Promotes quality of work, safety and security awareness.
- Actively manages any incidents that may occur in order to minimize Etihad employees’ injury and other forms of loss, ensuring any such events are correctly reported and, in the timeframe, specified by airworthiness regulations.
- Provides the appropriate time, training, resources, and encouragement to Etihad employees to support their involvement in the on-going development of Etihad’s Safety Management System and safety culture
- Monitors training currency of employees under his/her supervision to prevent any overdue.
