We are looking for a Medical Laboratory Technologist I to perform high complexity laboratory testing, quality control and quality assurance procedures, and comply with regulatory laboratory requirements.
Requirements
- Perform laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses according to the laboratory's standard operating procedures.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Prepare reagents required for laboratory testing.
- Perform, review and document laboratory quality control procedures.
- Identify and report basic problems that adversely affect test performance.
- Perform analytical result review.
- Assist in training new laboratory personnel on current procedures.
- May participate in testing, qualification, or validation of new laboratory equipment, materials, processes, or systems.
- Maintains data protection and follows patient information privacy regulations.
- Provide support in maintaining adequate inventory of laboratory supplies for daily operations.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, management and non-laboratory personnel as needed.
- Ability to address issues with non-laboratory personnel with assistance from senior staff and supervisors.
- Assist in reviewing and editing standard operating procedures.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of laboratory inspections as directed.
- Maintain stringent standards for quality, report any issues which might adversely impact the quality of test results and/or employee safety to the appropriate management representatives as necessary for resolution.

- Physical requirements: standing or sitting for long periods of time and some lifting may be necessary.
- Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
- Ability to use various types of laboratory equipment, including pipettes and micro-pipettes for extended periods of time.
- May perform repetitious actions using lab tools.
- Ability to use near vision to view samples at close range.
- Use of various chemicals to perform duties.
- Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 20% of a typical working day.
- Ability to work on a computer and phone simultaneously.
- Ability to use a telephone through a headset.
- Ability to work seated for approximately 50% of a typical working day.
- Ability to work standing for approximately 50% of a typical working day.
- Ability to concentrate, read, or analyze data, or apply scientific rules.
- May be exposed to hazardous materials, tissue specimens, and instruments with moving parts, lasers, heating and freezing elements, and high-speed centrifugation.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds for approximately 5% of a typical working day.
- Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.
- Willingness to travel approx. once a year to the US for training, if required.
