As a Principal Naval Architect, you will work on concept surface & sub-surface vessel design, complex engineering design & analysis tasks, and more in a hybrid arrangement. You will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, grow & develop your technical & behavioural skills, and lead multiple engineering projects & customers.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in a relevant STEM discipline (e.g., Naval Architecture, Ship Science, Marine Technology, Marine Engineering)
- Professional member of a relevant engineering institution (e.g., RINA, IMarEST, IMechE, IET)
- Recognised as an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer by the UK Engineering Council (or an ability to achieve within 12 months)
- Experience in Naval Architecture design & analysis software packages (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MaxSurf, NAPA, Aveva, Paramarine, Orcaflex, Ansys Structural/Fluent, MatLab, MS Excel)
- Experience of whole ship design including assessment of performance, design integration, construction, and through-life maintenance
- Experience of working in multi-company and engineering discipline teams with an ability to communicate effectively
