Job Description
Exponent is seeking a Managing Scientist in our Chemical Regulations & Food Safety Practice to be based in our Washington, DC office. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing safety reviews, conducting health risk assessments, and project management to support clients in the food and ingredient industries.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in food regulatory consulting
- Strong background in Human Health Risk Assessment
- Doctorate or Master’s degree in biochemistry, biological sciences, nutrition, toxicology, or related field
- Sound scientific principles, flexibility, and willingness to learn
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
- Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, adaptable, effective with time management, and capable of working independently and cooperatively in diverse teams
- Strong ability to prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Exposure to sensitive information will necessitate considerable use of tact, diplomacy, discretion, and judgment
- Willingness to learn and be creative
