Assistant Director of Care

The Assistant Director of Care is responsible for assisting with the management of nursing care at Extendicare Brampton, a 150-bed Long-Term care home in Brampton, Ontario. This is a full-time position that requires a Registered Nurse with a BScN and a minimum of three years' experience in long-term care.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse registered with College of Nurses of Ontario; BScN an asset
• Minimum of three years' experience in long term care; previous management experience an asset
• Current knowledge of clinical issues for geriatric residents, infection control, principles of adult education and quality improvement
• Knowledge of RAI MDS is required
• Demonstrated superior leadership and organizational skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Computer skills: Microsoft Word; Excel, computerized resident care and assessment programs
• Knowledge of applicable legislation, current nursing and healthcare practices; demonstrates concern and interest in providing quality care and service to residents.
