Job Description
The Program Lead is responsible for implementing and managing the curriculum and activities for school-age children in the YMCA. They supervise groups, ensure safety and dignity, and provide individualized support, modelling Y core values. The position involves operating at various YMCA sites, ranging from 6:30am to 6:00pm on weekdays, Monday to Friday, with additional hours possible for summer or after-school programs.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to obtain hands-on Pediatric First Aid & CPR Certification
- Ability to obtain Food Handler’s Card
- Ability to pass a background check
- At least a step 6 in the Oregon Registry – ORO
- At least 3 months of qualifying teaching experience in a Certified Childcare Center or comparable group care program
- At least 60 hours of qualifying teaching experience in a Certified Childcare Center or comparable group care program
- One of the following: An associate degree at a college or university in any child education or development program
- At least 3 months experience in a Y Certified Childcare Center
- Reliable transportation
