Job Description
Hearst Connecticut Media Group is seeking an enterprising and collaborative Engagement Editor to build community around Hearst Connecticut's news content across various platforms, including social media and website experiences. This role involves content creation, reader engagement, data analysis, and fostering a culture of engagement. The position contributes to the audience team and works closely with newsroom staff.
Requirements
- Collaborate with editors and multimedia team members.
- Define community engagement strategies for HCMG.
- Collect and edit reader-contributed content.
- Analyze metrics and use them to inform engagement decisions.
- Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in journalism, English, communications or related field.
- Understanding of social media landscape and SEO.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of newsroom standards.
- Strong understanding of newsroom standards and principles.
