The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate records of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to support efficient manufacturing operations. The role involves tracking inventory, investigating discrepancies, and working with production, purchasing, and shipping teams to ensure inventory levels are balanced.
Requirements
- Conduct daily cycle counts and full physical inventory as required.
- Track raw materials, WIP (work-in-progress), and finished goods to ensure accuracy in ERP/MRP systems.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies (missing, overage, damaged stock) and report root causes.
- Manage and maintain inventory system; creating part numbers, updating part information and bin locations.
- Backflush materials to stock or production orders and verify correct quantities are consumed.
- Monitor inventory levels and work with Purchasing/Planning to prevent shortages or overstock.
- Ensure proper labeling and storage practices to meet quality and safety standards.
- Prepare and assess inventory reports for management and support audits.
- Assist in process improvements for warehouse efficiency and inventory accuracy.
- Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
