The Federation of Quebec Municipalities (FQM) is seeking an Urban Planning and Territorial Development Professional to join a committed team that responds to the needs of municipalities and regions, contributes to achieving the organization's objectives and participates in making sure that the Quebec of tomorrow is the Quebec of all regions.
Requirements
- Hold a recognized university degree by the Quebec government that gives access to the Quebec Urban Planners Association (OUQ)
- Possess a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in similar functions, ideally in a municipal or consulting environment
- In-depth knowledge of the legislative and regulatory framework applicable to the municipal environment (planning, urbanism and related regulation)
- Mastery of the Microsoft Office suite and ease with collaborative tools (Teams, SharePoint, Google Drive)
- Excellent mastery of French in both written and spoken form
- Hold a valid driver's license (class 5) and be available for occasional travel in Quebec
- Experience in territorial planning and document writing (SAD, urban planning plans and regulations, professional opinions, decision-making documents)
- Excellent analytical, synthesizing and writing skills, including the production of deliverables for various audiences (technical teams, management, elected officials), as well as the ability to vulgarize technical issues
- Skills in facilitating meetings, workshops or consultation approaches, promoting conciliation
- Autonomy, rigor, professional judgment and organizational sense, with the ability to manage multiple files simultaneously, establish priorities and respect deadlines
- Service-oriented approach, quality of deliverables and search for practical solutions adapted to municipal realities. Positive leadership, initiative and interdisciplinarity
- Good understanding of geospatial data and GIS, as well as a marked interest in sustainable development, climate change adaptation and key issues (housing, sustainable mobility, resilience)
