Job Description
FindTalent is partnering with a well-established leader in the utility construction industry to identify an experienced Senior Estimator. This role will oversee large and multi-project proposals, ensuring the development of accurate and competitive cost estimates across transmission, distribution, substation, and civil/site projects.
Requirements
- 10+ years of estimating experience in utility construction (transmission, distribution, substations, and civil/sitework)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (equivalent experience may be considered)
- Proficiency in Heavy Bid estimating software is required
- Strong background in take-offs, labor and material cost analysis, subcontractor bids, and procurement pricing
- Demonstrated ability to interpret RFPs, plans, and specifications; experience conducting site visits
- Familiarity with MS Office (Excel, Word), Primavera/MS Project, Bluebeam, and HCSS heavy civil tools
- Proven track record of leading estimating teams and mentoring junior staff
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines under pressure
- Understanding of construction methods, industry codes, safety standards, and union labor agreements
