Job Description
FirstEnergy is seeking a Substation Design Engineer to contribute to the engineering of substations. This role involves creating and managing design of substation projects, ensuring safety, providing technical support to personnel, and adhering to budget and schedule requirements. The position requires collaboration with internal and external teams to deliver projects efficiently and effectively. FirstEnergy values integrity, safety, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Creating engineering designs and work scope for substation projects
- Ensuring designs support a safe environment for transmission lines and substations
- Preparing bills-of-material and specifications for substation projects
- Reviewing NESC clearance requirements and Maintenance personnel
- Analyzing engineering issues, structures, equipment, etc.
- Managing equipment orders and coordinating projects
