Activities Assistant

This position assists the Activities Director in implementing a program designed to meet the residents’ needs and maintain their quality of life. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs, along with resident assessments and coordination of activities. Supervision is minimal, and the role focuses on assisting with program execution.

Requirements

• Implements programs of individual and group activities based on residents’ needs.
• Completes the activity component of the resident assessment.
• Coordinates and assists residents in getting to activity locations.
• Documents resident activity program attendance and updates the program.
• Observes resident mood and behavior and reports any concerns.
• Coordinates activities needs and requests with other departments.
• Uses resident assessment protocols (RAPs).
• Stand, traverse, ascend/descend stairs.
• Lift and carry up to 35 pounds frequently.
• Prolonged periods standing and walking.
• Write legibly, enter data into computer, read and comprehend written/verbal information.
