Job Description
Teach science to middle school students (grades 5-8) at a school in Wilmington, Delaware. The ideal candidate has a commitment to the school's mission, a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field, and a current Delaware State Teaching Certificate. Experience in an urban environment and coaching experience are highly desirable.
Requirements
- Commitment to the school's mission
- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Education or relevant field of study
- Current and valid Delaware State Teaching Certificate applicable to the subject/grades being taught
- Minimum 1+ years of teaching experience and/or working with students in an urban environment
- Coaching experience is highly desirable
- FBI Fingerprinting/Background Clearance REQUIRED prior to hiring
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and positively with parents, students, and diverse stakeholders
- Knowledge of and skill with technology and Google Workspace
- Ability to speak Spanish is highly desirable, but not mandatory
