Senior RF Test Engineer

Forefront RF is seeking a Senior RF Test Engineer to lead RF measurement, characterization, and validation of cutting-edge RF products in Cambridge, UK. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in RF testing, characterization, and validation of RF systems or modules, with a solid understanding of RF fundamentals and proficiency with RF lab equipment. The role requires excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, strong communication and collaboration abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving with a resilient attitude towards ambiguity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience in RF testing, characterization, and validation of RF systems or modules.
• Practical experience with 3GPP-based measurements for cellular systems (LTE and/or NR).
• Solid understanding of RF fundamentals including S-parameters, impedance matching, gain, noise figure, and linearity.
• Proficiency with RF lab equipment (e.g., VNAs, spectrum analysers, signal generators) and developing repeatable automated test setups (Python/MATLAB or similar).
• Ability to interpret RF schematics, debug hardware, and analyse RF system trade-offs, with practical lab experience.
• Experience maintaining RF lab environments, including equipment calibration, test infrastructure, and measurement best practices.
• Experience leading measurement activities or mentoring engineers is desirable.
