The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing disorders. The primary responsibility is to work as part of a team of physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to manage patient care.
Requirements
- Certified Respiratory Therapist or certification eligible
- High school diploma or GED
- Graduate from an AMA approved course in Respiratory Therapy
- Registered Respiratory Therapist or registry eligible as approved and recognized by the National Board of Respiratory Care
- Licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners as a Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Ability and knowledge to perform all treatments, testing, and modalities of Respiratory Care
- Current Respiratory Therapy License and CPR certification
