Job Description
A newly established start-up in Silicon Valley is seeking a Research Group Leader to drive innovation and lead a talented team of researchers. The company is pioneering pan-modal Large Biological Models (LBM) and aims to revolutionize biology and medicine through generative AI. The role involves leading research efforts, contributing to groundbreaking discoveries, and mentoring scientific leaders.
Requirements
- PhD in Computer Science, Computational Biology, or related area with at least 5 years of post-doctoral experience
- MSc in a relevant field with at least 10 years of relevant research experience
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, including managing and mentoring research scientists or a similar technical team
- A strong track record of research accomplishments, evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals, conference presentations, and/or relevant industry achievements
- Deep knowledge and expertise in the design and use of foundation models for biology
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
