Job Description
The Engineering Lead, Design Services, HVAC Engineering and Design will oversee execution of the DDG 51 New construction contract, ensure compliance with safety, quality, technical, and performance standards, and lead efforts to develop and grow the capabilities of the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering is required.
- Expert knowledge of Design Services Detail Design and change process is required.
- Strong technical understanding of DDG 51 HVAC detail and Functional products is highly desirable.
- Ability to understand and interpret technical requirements and drawings.
- Minimum 5 years of technical Design, Engineering, project management, or combination required.
- 3 years of technical supervisory / project lead experience required, including demonstrated technical / project management skills.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire teams of engineers, technicians, and designers.
- Understands the elements of ship design.
- Excellent organizational and communications skills, both oral and written.
- Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office products, required.
- Ability and willingness to work in, and promote, a true team environment.
- Successful experience in implementing and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, improve quality, reduce cycle time, and reduce costs.
