Job Description
This position involves preparing surfaces using abrasive blasting to remove contaminants, remove scale, and prepare surfaces for coating. The role requires working at heights, in confined spaces, and wearing respirators. Responsibilities include installing safety equipment, operating abrasive blast equipment, and maintaining dust collection. It's a general duty role.
Requirements
- 1 to two years experience on abrasive blasting activities or SSPC C-7 Certification
- Knowledge of surface preparation procedures
- Ability to set up and operate abrasive blast gear
- Ability to operate high reaching equipment
- Ability to work at heights
- Ability to hear warning signals and read safety instructions
- Ability to work in all areas of the shipyard and on board ships
