Job Description
General Dynamics Mission Systems is seeking a Principal Firmware (VHDL) Engineer to join their engineering team. The role involves applying experience in a new environment, working on both existing and new software development, and contributing to the team's skills and capabilities. The role can be for defence or related projects, with a focus on avionics mission computing systems.
Requirements
- Degree in relevant engineering field or equivalent experience
- Extensive experience in FPGA design and implementation, primarily using XILINX SoCs and MicroSemi FPGAs
- Proficiency in VHDL, simulation tools, and verification test bench generation
- Expert knowledge of XILINX Vivado toolset
- Understanding of requirements capture, work package definition, and effort estimation
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead firmware design reviews
