Job Description
General Dynamics Mission Systems is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Buyer for a 12-month fixed-term contract position in Hastings, United Kingdom. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our procurement team, ensuring efficient and cost-effective purchasing of goods and services for our organisation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles
- Proficiency in procurement software (SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
- Experience in supplier management and contract negotiation
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices
- Understanding of market trends and pricing strategies
- Professional certification (CIPS) is desirable but not essential
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
