Bioinformatics Intern

Genvax Technologies is a startup animal health company focused on self-amplifying mRNA nanoparticle vaccines. The Bioinformatics Intern will assist in the development and validation of vaccine technologies, working closely with a mentor and contributing to an independent project. This is a paid internship during a 3-month (May-August) period.

Requirements

• Pursuit of an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science/Engineering, or related field
• Preference for students attending Iowa colleges or universities, or students from Iowa high schools attending a college outside of Iowa
• Experience with machine learning, artificial intelligence, or predictive analytics is a plus
• Strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new skill sets quickly
• Experience managing independent projects
