Director, Business Development - Government Contracts

The Director of Business Development is responsible for expanding GHGSat’s presence within federal, provincial, state, and international government markets by identifying, pursuing, and acquiring strategic contracts. This role focuses on leadership of compelling proposals for government funding programs, research initiatives, and service contracts, and building strong relationships with public sector stakeholders. Key responsibilities include strategy development, proposal writing, contract negotiation, and post-award compliance.

Requirements

• Develop and execute GHGSat’s government contracting strategy to support revenue growth.
• Identify, qualify, and prioritize opportunities with space agencies, defense organizations, and climate initiatives.
• Lead the full lifecycle of government proposals (RFI, RFP, RFQ, grants, and tenders).
• Write and edit proposals to clearly communicate GHGSat’s capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with government procurement frameworks.
• Manage timelines, compliance checklists, and evaluation criteria to produce competitive submissions.
