Job Description
We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to work at St. Stephen's Lutheran Academy, an educational option for students in grades K through 12 who require specialized educational programs due to behavioral health, academic and developmental concerns. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree in a human service, psychology, or education field, or a High School diploma with experience working with children, adolescents or adults. The role requires providing supervision for clients, completing paperwork, maintaining boundaries with students and staff, and building healthy relationships with students. The job is a 10-Month position following the school calendar, Monday-Friday 7:30am-3:30pm.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in human service, psychology, or education field
- High School diploma with experience working with children, adolescents or adults
- Audio/visual/verbal skills to provide supervision for clients
- Physical dexterity to assist in client physical interventions
- Ability to exercise discretion and judgment
- Ability to adjust hours to job requirements
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Eligibility for PA State Police Clearance, PA Child Abuse History clearance, FBI clearance and Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification Form
