Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Livelihoods Specialist is responsible for implementing sustainable agricultural practices, training producers and communities, and promoting organic fertilizers and efficient water management. The role also involves providing technical assistance, designing and following up on Field Schools, and linking producers to local markets and financial services.
Requirements
- Implementation of sustainable agricultural practices
- Training of producers and communities in agroecological production techniques
- Promotion of the use of organic fertilizers, biological control of pests, and efficient water management
- Implementation of crop diversification
- Technical assistance in the field
- Design and follow-up of Field Schools with groups and parcels of beneficiaries
- Supervision of the installation and maintenance of gardens, demo plots, and irrigation systems
- Verification that adopted practices meet project technical standards and criteria
- Linkage to local markets and basic marketing
- Support to producers in identifying local markets, agricultural fairs, and channels of commercialization
- Coordination with project actors or specialized partners to strengthen marketing, added value, and commercialization capacities
- Providing technical inputs for rural business initiatives related to ICSP
- Linkage to inclusive financial services
- Identifying, together with other project components, opportunities to link producers with financial services (savings, credit, insurance, microinsurance)
- Facilitating access of producers to these services
- Promoting productive practices that improve the financial eligibility of producers
- Strengthening community capacities
- Organizing and facilitating workshops, field days, and exchange tours
- Preparing technical materials adapted to the local context and the literacy levels of beneficiaries
- Gender and inclusion approach
- Promoting the active participation of women and youth in productive activities of the component
- Incorporating gender criteria in the selection of beneficiaries, Field Schools, and community activities
- Ensuring the application of institutional guidelines and ICSP guidelines
- Supporting the monitoring of gender-related indicators linked to livelihoods and decision-making
- Monitoring and evaluation of results
- Collecting productive (yields, costs, income) and environmental data (implementation of good practices, water use, soil conservation)
- Applying project indicator tracking tools and reporting progress
- Supporting participatory evaluations to measure changes in practices and livelihoods
- Coordination with key actors
- Coordinating with partner organizations such as MAMLESIP, CAFEG, SAG for the execution of joint activities
- Linking producers with local markets and agricultural fairs
- Identifying opportunities for funding or complementary assistance
- Logistical and administrative management
- Preparing technical reports and photographic reports of activities carried out
- Supporting the management of agricultural inputs and their delivery to beneficiaries
- Ensuring the care and efficient use of project equipment and materials
- Knowing GOAL's policies and guidelines, including human resources, logistics, finance, administration, and security protocols
- Other functions assigned by the Project Manager, within the framework of program objectives and needs
