The Structural Designer I is an entry-level structural engineering professional who supports the analysis, design, and documentation of structural systems for a wide range of building types.
Requirements
- Assist in the analysis and design of structural systems for building projects
- Perform basic structural calculations, load determinations, and preliminary sizing under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer
- Prepare structural drawings, details, and design documentation using Revit and AutoCAD in accordance with company standards
- Apply applicable building codes, standards, and local jurisdictional requirements with guidance from senior staff
- Support the preparation of technical reports, feasibility studies, and due diligence documentation
- Coordinate structural design elements with Architectural, Civil, MEP, and Development Services teams to support integrated project delivery
- Participate in internal project meetings and assist with documenting decisions and action items
- Assist in the preparation and tracking of project schedules, cost estimates, and deliverables as assigned
- Maintain organized project files, design revisions, and QA/QC documentation
- Produce contract documents that conform to applicable building and zoning codes
- Check shop drawings and coordinate with internal and external project team members under supervision
- Assist in reviewing contractor submittals and shop drawings under the direction of senior engineers
- Support responses to Requests for Information (RFIs)
- Participate in site visits to observe construction progress, document field conditions, and report findings to project leadership
