Associate Director of College Counseling

The Associate Director of College Counseling is responsible for supporting/advising students and families through the college application/admission process and enhancing Greenhill's relationship with colleges and universities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred
• Four years of experience in selective college admission and/or in a college counseling office in a school
• Thorough understanding of the application process at public and private colleges and universities, and of the college-admission landscape
• Ability to work under pressure and meet prescribed deadlines while handling multiple assignments simultaneously
• Ability to work collaboratively within a highly collegial, energetic, and supportive team, as well as across the school's departments
• Strategic, big-picture focused
• Detail-oriented
• Self-motivated, independent, and flexible
• Excellent writing skills
• Excellent public speaking/presenting skills
• Ability to communicate proactively, empathetically, and effectively with all constituent groups, including students, families, faculty, staff, and administrators from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism
• Ability to respond effectively and graciously to the needs of a diverse student and parent community, and knowledge of the developmental needs of high-school students
• Ability to support occasional evening and weekend events
• Willingness to travel to visit colleges and participate in admission conferences
