Software Engineer II, Ad Apps

GumGum is a contextual-first, global digital advertising platform that uses advanced AI technology to serve captivating creative ads. We're looking for a Software Engineer II to join our Advertising Applications team, where you'll design, develop, and maintain new features and improvements for our React web applications, and work on both frontend and backend technologies such as React, Redux, TypeScript, and Java/Spring. This role requires 3+ years of software engineering experience, including JavaScript, and a deep understanding of the advertising industry.

Requirements

• Design, develop, and maintain new features and improvements for a variety of React web applications
• Develop backend functionality with Java/Spring, including extending and maintaining APIs
• Support more senior engineers with projects from inception to production release (and beyond)
• Collaborate regularly with other teams such as DevOps, Designers, and Product to optimize our applications and brainstorm creative solutions together
• Implement tests and ensure proper functionality and graceful degradation on multiple browsers
• Help troubleshoot user reported issues from the team’s applications
• Work with stakeholders in various departments to fully understand business requirements and translate them into the development of the products
• Develop a deep understanding of the advertising industry as required to be able to make decisions about our technical approach and provide our users with more efficient applications
• Create new web applications from the ground up if needed
• Share knowledge by contributing to our technical blog and giving presentations/talks
