Job Description
The Ophthalmic Technician provides advanced ophthalmic work up, procedures, measurements and tests to assist a provider and improve patient care. The role involves performing office laser procedures and assisting in the operating room. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.
Requirements
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) (Preferred)
- Two years ophthalmic assisting experience (COA preferred)
- LPN certification within 6 months of employment (Licensed Practitioner in NY, License in PA required)
- OR experience
- Completion of Home Study Course in 12 months for COA/COMT
- Certification as Ophthalmic Assistant within 12 months for COMT
