Job Description
The Sr. Database Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, support, and maintenance of database systems critical to healthcare operations. This role ensures high availability and performance for database systems, collaborating with IT teams and vendors to align solutions with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. The position acts as a technology advocate for the effective application of technology to meet business needs and support growth.
Requirements
- Five to seven years of experience in implementing and managing databases in an enterprise environment
- High-level expertise in database management systems (e.g., Microsoft SQL, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL, and database automation scripting
- Experience with Epic IRIS databases and related systems
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., KornShell, Perl, PowerShell)
- Experience with data modeling, schema design, and normalization
- Experience with backup and recovery, high availability and disaster recovery
- Experience with ITSM functionalities
- Strong knowledge of healthcare information systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Prior experience delivering high availability systems in a 24/7 environment
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
