Job Description
Burns & Wilcox is seeking a Commercial Lines Underwriter to build and maintain relationships with clients, manage agency relationships, and ensure appropriate coverage and pricing. The role involves marketing, rating, quoting, and developing underwriting referrals, as well as training and developing a team of underwriters. This position is a full-time regular commitment within a private, non-Profit owned company.
Requirements
- Build, maintain, and grow a book of business
- Manage agency relationships and serve as lead client contact
- Create and execute marketing plans for new and renewal business
- Rate and quote risks for large/complex renewals
- Monitor key metrics and adjust underwriting strategy
- Develop and train assistant and associate underwriters
- Proficiency in insurance licenses and designations preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
